I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, Renton Washington to be exact. I love the outdoors and everything mother nature has provided us. My wife of 36 years, Theresa, grew up in Seattle Washington and loves the Pacific Northwest as well. But as we have become of retirement age, we realized that the wet and gray months were becoming less desirable, so looking for a nicer climate we found our place, Green Valley Arizona.

I was formerly employed for 36 years for one of the largest Special Purpose Districts in Washington State as the IT Director. On the side, I also am an award-winning Outdoor Author and Photographer having published 3 books and authored over 160 magazine articles primarily on fishing, my passion since as far back as I can remember. Although not the same type of fishing here in Arizona, I love the wildlife and have already captured hundreds of wildlife photos to add to my collection.

I retired the end of 2022 and we moved to Green Valley in January 2023. We could not be any happier. If you’re looking for the perfect place to retire, this is it! Green Valley along with the neighboring Sahuarita offers something for everyone without the hustle and bustle, busy streets, and high costs of living in most metropolitan areas. If we were to have stayed in the Seattle area, I’d still be working for another 5 to 10 years to have a comfortable retirement.

My wife and I enjoy the relaxation of our pool, of course the fantastic weather, and the amazing sunsets. I also enjoy golf and competition air rifle shooting; my wife enjoys painting and ceramics. There are over 100 different clubs you can belong to, and everyone is so friendly.
